The Long Term Recovery Committee is a group of agencies,
organizations and faith-based entities working to find and assist
tornado survivors with unmet disaster related needs in Southwest

every Thursday at 2:00pm at A Church Called Mystery.514 S. Main in
Joplin. Then the COAD meetings are now the first Fridays of the month
starting August 5th and that is at 1:30 pm and it is at the

All City Council members are elected at large,
with four members required to be residents of specific geographic
sections of the city. Every two years, the City Council selects one of
its members to serve as Mayor, who chairs City Council meetings and
serves as the spokesperson for the City Council. The City Council
also selects a member to serve as Mayor Pro Tem, who assumes mayoral
responsibilities in the Mayor’s absence.
